Hello, good morning. I'd like to book a visit for my grandmother this Saturday.
Joy

Good morning! Of course. What time would you like on Saturday?

What is a Tagalog AI receptionist?
A Tagalog AI receptionist answers your business phone in Tagalog, English or a natural mix of both, so callers can book, ask a question or leave a message without waiting.
Waboom AI's Tagalog agent is Joy, a female voice with a Manila Tagalog accent who uses po and opo with every caller. Built for businesses across New Zealand and Australia.

Where Tagalog-language phone answering helps
When callers can speak the way they do at home, in Tagalog, English or both, booking a visit or leaving a message is easier.

Aged care and nursing
Families calling about visiting times, a resident's wellbeing or a message for the nurse on shift. Joy answers in Tagalog or Taglish, books visits, reads the caller's number back and passes anything personal or clinical to your staff.

Medical and health clinics
Appointment requests, changes, opening hours and directions in Tagalog or English. Clinical questions go to your qualified staff, never to the AI.

Restaurants and hospitality
Table bookings, function enquiries and opening hours, answered in Taglish while your team is busy on the floor.

Construction and trades
Quote requests, job bookings and site messages for builders, electricians and plumbers. The receptionist takes the address and job details and books a callback.

Retail and customer service
Order questions, opening hours, delivery updates and messages for the team, answered politely in Tagalog or English.
How we set up your Tagalog AI receptionist
Three steps. We do the heavy lifting.
Tell us about your callers
Which languages they speak, what they call about, and what a good call ends with: a booking, a message or a transfer.
We build and test it in Tagalog
Your greeting, hours, services and booking rules in English and Tagalog, tested on calls with your own names and places.
Go live on your number
Forward your existing number. Every call comes with a transcript and summary, and we keep improving it.
What makes Tagalog-language calls different?
Speaking Tagalog well on the phone takes more than translating English sentences.
Taglish is welcome
Filipino callers often move between Tagalog and English without thinking about it, often inside one sentence: "Gusto ko po mag-book ng appointment." In our tests the receptionist heard Tagalog and English together in one call and followed callers who mixed them freely, and it answers in the same natural mix.
Po and opo
Politeness is built into Tagalog through po and opo. We set Joy to use them with every caller, and to address older callers respectfully, so families calling an aged care home or a clinic feel looked after.
Tagalog, not every Philippine language
Joy speaks Tagalog with a Manila accent. Bisaya (Cebuano) and Ilocano are different languages and are not supported. Callers from the Visayas or northern Luzon can still use Tagalog or English, and we run test calls with your own callers before go-live.
Numbers in English and Spanish-style times
Filipino callers often give phone numbers in English and times the Spanish-derived way, such as "alas-dos" for two o'clock. In our tests a couple of digits were misheard, so the receptionist reads every number and time back and waits for "opo" before saving it.
An example call in Tagalog
A family member books a visit at an aged care home in Taglish and the agent reads her number back. Illustrative example, not a recording.

Thank you, Maricel. Let me read the number back: 021 456 789. Is that correct?

Yes, that's correct.

Tagalog AI receptionist: common questions
Which Tagalog accents does the AI receptionist speak?
One: Joy has a female voice with a Manila Tagalog accent. There is no male Tagalog voice yet. Bisaya (Cebuano) and Ilocano are not offered. Before go-live we run test calls with your own callers so you can hear how it handles the way they speak.
Can callers switch between English and Tagalog?
Yes. Taglish is normal and supported. In our tests the receptionist heard Tagalog and English together in one call, and callers could mix both freely, even inside one sentence. Joy follows without being asked.
Does it understand phone numbers spoken in Tagalog?
Mostly, yes. In our tests a couple of digits were misheard, so the receptionist reads every number back to the caller and asks them to confirm it before saving. A wrong digit gets fixed on the call.
Does it speak Bisaya, Cebuano or Ilocano?
No. Joy speaks Tagalog and English. Bisaya (Cebuano) and Ilocano are separate languages and are not supported. Callers who speak them and also speak Tagalog or English can still use the receptionist in those languages.
Can I try a Tagalog demo now?
Yes. Talk to the Tagalog agent on this page, in your browser. Calls run for up to four minutes.
Can we keep our 1300 or 1800 number?
Yes. You keep your number and forward calls to the AI receptionist, all the time or only when you are busy, do not answer or are closed. A mobile number can forward the same way. You do not need a new number.
Can it transfer calls to our staff and send a summary?
Yes. It can put a caller through to a staff member's mobile when they need a person, and it sends a summary of every call to your team, with the transcript in your portal.
Can it give medical, legal or financial advice in Tagalog?
No. In regulated industries, including aged care and health, the agent handles admin only: bookings, opening hours, directions and messages. Anything that needs advice goes to your qualified staff.
Does a Tagalog receptionist cost more than English?
No. Tagalog calls are charged at the same per-minute rate as English, from 95c a minute down to 77c in New Zealand and 71c in Australia. Credit never expires and every plan has a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Where is call data stored?
Transcripts, call records, contact details and billing are stored in Sydney. The live audio, recording files, speech processing and the language model run offshore. We meet cross-border accountability requirements through documented arrangements with our voice infrastructure partner.
