The AI Sales Agent for NZ + AU Outbound
Dials, qualifies, books, sends, transfers. Writes back to your CRM. Stays inside compliance.
An AI sales agent runs the front layer of your outbound motion: cold dialling, warm follow-ups, database reactivation. It handles the repetitive work so your human reps spend time only on conversations that need a human.
What is an AI sales agent?
An AI sales agent is an AI voice agent designed for outbound. It dials your contact list, qualifies prospects against your buying criteria, books meetings into your calendar, sends follow-up emails and PDFs, warm-transfers hot leads to your reps, and writes everything back to your CRM. Same per-minute economics as the inbound AI receptionist; built for the opposite direction. The pillar product for outbound voice; the AI virtual receptionist is the pillar for inbound.
What an AI Sales Agent Actually Does
The full end-to-end outbound stack, not just the dial.
Outbound calling
Cold leads, warm follow-ups, database reactivation, refinance lists, lapsed customers. Up to 800 dials per agent per day. Connect rates of 28-38% in optimal hours.
Email send mid-call or post-call
Templated email triggered by intent: offer summary, meeting confirmation, brochure attachment, calendar link. Sent from your email domain via HubSpot, SendGrid, or any SMTP.
PDF attachments
Auto-attaches your info pack, pricing sheet, T&Cs, or compliance disclosures based on what was discussed on the call. Tracked open + click via your sender platform.
Live calendar booking
Books straight into HubSpot, Pipedrive, Calendly, Acuity, Google Calendar, or Outlook. Real-time availability check, conflict avoidance, automatic confirmation SMS.
Warm transfer to a human
When intent is high (hot-lead criteria met), the agent transfers the call to your nominated rep with a 30-second context summary attached. The human picks up mid-conversation, not from scratch.
CRM write-back
Deal stage transition, qualification fields, call summary, full transcript, recording URL, next-step task, and any custom fields. Native HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, Zoho.
Compliance overlay
DNC scrub before every campaign (AU Do Not Call Register), calling-hour enforcement (9am-8pm AU weekdays, ACMA aligned in NZ), recording disclosure at call start, IPP 3A AI disclosure (NZ from 1 May 2026), opt-out honoured immediately.
Native NZ + AU voices
Authentic Kiwi and Australian accents, place name pronunciation (Whangārei, Tauranga, Woolloongabba), and te reo greetings on NZ deployments. We tested US-trained voices on NZ inbound and saw a 22% misunderstanding rate.

Your AI Sales Agent Gets Smarter Every Night
Three platform features that turn the agent from a passive dialler into a system that actively gets better with every call: cost per outcome, peak-time learning, and question-frequency feedback.
Cost per outcome (CPA per tag)
You flag the outcomes you care about (Call Passed to Rep, Meeting Booked, Got Email, 6-Month Reminder). The portal reports the cost of each one. Not "we made 2,190 calls for $832." It tells you 43 leads passed to your senior rep at $2.27 each, 23 emails captured at $2.32, 15 callbacks booked at $1.60.
The campaign-completion email lands in your inbox with a sortable table. Real numbers, your language, your KPIs. No more guessing what the spend bought.
Smart Booster yield-shaping
The agent runs faster in proven high-yield hours and slower in low-yield hours, inside the calling window you set. Top-quartile hours dial at ~30% faster pace. Bottom-quartile slow down. Anti-spam guards (per-phone weekly cap, micro-cooldowns, daily limits) always sit on top.
Recomputed nightly from the agent's last 90 days of calls. The booster reads the cache and quietly adjusts pace. You don't configure it. The agent earns its own schedule.
Calling-window recommendations
When you create a new campaign and pick an agent, the form shows the agent's historically best calling windows: “Tuesday 10am-12pm. Wednesday 2pm-4pm. 9,685 calls analysed.” One click pre-fills the days, start time, and end time on the campaign form. You can always override.
Threshold gating prevents noise. Recommendations only appear after the agent has 500+ calls in the lookback. Each (hour, day) bucket needs 30+ calls before it shows as a high-confidence signal. Single-bucket fluke wins do not warp the recommendation.
Question-frequency reporting
After every call, the agent extracts the questions the caller asked. The portal aggregates them into a top-questions list per campaign: “How much is the deposit? 47×. When is the open home? 23×. Is there parking? 18×.”
This is the prompt-improvement loop. Anything that appears 30+ times is something the agent should answer cleanly next time, not transfer to your team. Your AI gets sharper every week, automatically driven by the data.

Real Numbers from a Live NZ Deployment
City Sales is an Auckland real estate agency running a Waboom AI sales agent on outbound prospecting. Three months in production. Numbers below are theirs, used with permission.
“The visibility is probably a real eye opener. In real time seeing how engaged or not our database is and how it's helping the team call the right prospects at the right time.”
. James Mairs, Licensed Realtor, City Sales (Auckland). Three months running, 27 March 2026.
When You Dial Matters Almost as Much as Who
We ran 50,000 outbound calls across NZ and AU campaigns Feb-Apr 2026. Same lists, same scripts, same agents. Connect rate by hour-of-day told a story most B2B campaigns ignore.

Six outbound use cases where the unit economics beat a human BDR team in 2026.
Cold lead qualification
Dials inbound web-form leads or purchased lists, qualifies against your ICP, books a meeting only with qualified prospects. Removes the noise from your reps' calendar.
Warm follow-up
Calls back demo no-shows, content downloaders, abandoned trial signups. The lead is still warm; the AI gets the conversation restarted faster than a human can call them back.
Database reactivation
Calls aged leads (12-24 months stale) to check intent and refresh contact info. Recovers 8-15% as live opportunities at $0.40 per call vs $25-40 with a human BDR.
Renewal + retention calls
Mortgage refinance reminders, insurance renewal calls, subscription retention conversations. Heavy NZ + AU mortgage broking and finance use case.
Appointment + meeting reminders
Calls confirm appointments 24 hours out, reschedules if needed, drops a follow-up SMS. Reduces no-shows by 30-50% in dental, vet, allied health.
Document chase + AR follow-up
Calls clients about overdue invoices, missing settlement documents, expense receipts. Tone is polite, scripted, and consistent. Recovery rates +30-40% vs the human-led playbook.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is an AI sales agent?
An AI sales agent is an AI voice agent designed for outbound sales calls. It dials a contact list, identifies itself with the required AI disclosure, qualifies the prospect against your buying criteria, books a meeting if there is intent, sends a follow-up email or SMS with the calendar link and any supporting documents, and either warm-transfers to a human rep when intent is high or marks the lead in the CRM. The same per-minute price structure as the inbound AI receptionist; different job, different optimisation.
How is an AI sales agent different from an AI receptionist?
An AI receptionist is inbound (you receive the call). An AI sales agent is outbound (you make the call). The receptionist optimises for fast answer, accurate triage, and warm message-taking. The sales agent optimises for connect rate, qualification quality, objection handling, and CRM data hygiene. Compliance overlay is also different: an outbound dialler has to handle DNC scrubbing, calling-hour windows, and recording disclosure on every call. We covered the full inbound case at our virtual receptionist page.
Can the AI send emails and PDFs during the call?
Yes. Mid-call or immediately after the call, the agent can send a templated email (offer summary, calendar link, brochure), attach a PDF (info pack, pricing sheet, terms and conditions), and SMS the prospect a confirmation. All captured in the CRM record alongside the call recording and transcript.
What integrations does an AI sales agent need?
At minimum: your CRM (HubSpot, Pipedrive, Salesforce, Zoho), your calendar (Google, Outlook, Calendly, Acuity), and your email or SMS sender (HubSpot, SendGrid, Twilio). The integrations let the agent read the lead list, write back qualification fields, book meetings into your real availability, and send templated follow-ups without you re-keying anything. Full integration list at /integrations.
Will it warm-transfer to a human rep when the lead is hot?
Yes. The agent is trained on your hot-lead criteria (e.g. budget confirmed, timeline within 90 days, decision-maker on the line). When those criteria are met, it warm-transfers the call to your nominated rep with a 30-second context summary so the human picks up where the AI left off, without restarting the conversation.
How do I keep it legal?
Two layers. Dialler-level: the platform respects calling hours (AU 9am-8pm weekdays / 9am-5pm weekends; NZ aligned with ACMA Industry Standard), scrubs the AU Do Not Call Register before each campaign, and respects opt-out requests immediately. Call-level: the agent discloses AI involvement and call recording at call start. Both are required from 1 May 2026 in NZ under IPP 3A. We covered Australian rules and NZ Privacy Act 2020 compliance in detail.
How is the AI sales agent priced?
$0.80 NZD per minute, no monthly retainer. A typical 60-90 second outbound call costs $0.80 to $1.20. Cost per qualified meeting books at $15 to $35 in our 30-deployment dataset, vs $80 to $200 with a human BDR team for the same volume. Full pricing breakdown in our 2026 NZ + AU pricing pillar.
How long until it is live?
5 to 7 days for a typical outbound campaign. Day 1-2: stack setup. Day 2-3: list hygiene and DNC scrub. Day 3-5: script build and agent training. Day 5-6: 500-call pilot. Day 7+: production. We covered the full implementation playbook in how to implement AI in outbound sales calls.
