Five Phones That Kept Ringing Out. Here Are the AI Voice Agent Case Studies That Fixed Them.

Leonardo Garcia-Curtis27/07/2026
TL;DR

We ran five real campaigns across NZ and Australia and tagged every call so the numbers hold up. A Sydney agency booked 141 warm sellers at 32.74 dollars each. A Christchurch developer booked 49 viewings at 7.12 dollars each on a 505 dollar trial. A Dunedin office took 300 missed calls a month down to 22. The pattern is the same everywhere: price on the outcome, not the dial. Start with one campaign and one number you care about.

Five Phones That Kept Ringing Out. Here Are the AI Voice Agent Case Studies That Fixed Them.

Most case studies are vibes. A logo, a happy quote, no maths. We do not run those. Every campaign we ship gets tagged at the call level, so we can tell you the cost per real outcome, not the cost per dial.

This is a roundup of five AI voice agent case studies from real NZ and Australian businesses. Five different jobs. Five different numbers. One pattern underneath all of them.

Five small business phones on desks across New Zealand and Australia ringing out at peak hour

Five businesses, five phones ringing out, five very different numbers underneath.

What do real AI voice agent case studies look like in NZ and Australia?

They look like cost per outcome, not cost per dial. A Sydney agent booked sellers at 32.74 dollars each. A Christchurch developer booked viewings at 7.12 dollars each. A Dunedin office took 300 missed calls a month down to 22. Real numbers, real towns.

Here is the honest part. Every one of these clients asked to stay anonymous, so we changed names and stripped addresses. The data did not change. The dial counts, the conversation counts, the dollar figures all come from the live portal.

A few ground rules before the stories. We bill by the second at about 80 cents a minute. An answered call averages about 30 seconds, so roughly 40 cents. A one to two minute conversation runs about one to two dollars.

That is the unit you should hold in your head as you read. Every agent on these campaigns tells the caller it is an AI. We disclose on every call, in NZ and in Australia.

How did a Sydney agency get 141 vendor leads at 32.74 dollars each?

A boutique Sydney agency swapped two overseas telemarketers for our agent in January 2026. Over 90 days it dialled almost 9,856 phones, had 1,997 real conversations, and live-transferred 141 interested sellers. That is 7.1 percent of every real conversation turning into a warm vendor lead.

The owner had been paying over 1,500 dollars a month for two telemarketers who did not know the suburbs. Wrong school zones. Wrong strata politics. Vendors hung up.

Our agent called from a local number, qualified the seller, and warm-transferred the live ones straight to her. Total spend across the quarter was 4,617 dollars. Divide that by 141 sellers and you get 32.74 dollars per warm-transferred vendor.

Hold that against a human appointment setter on 28 to 35 dollars an hour before KiwiSaver, ACC and holiday pay. The agent does not get sick, does not need a script meeting, and dials 200 phones for about 100 dollars.

That campaign is our most-read AI voice agent case study. The full call-by-call breakdown lives in the Sydney 141 vendor leads story, and it sits at the top of our AI voice agent results hub.

Cost per outcome across the campaigns, not cost per dial.

How did a Christchurch developer book viewings at 7.12 dollars each?

A Christchurch new-build developer was watching hot leads go cold. Two reps could not call them back fast enough. They ran 931 ad-form leads through our agent on a 505.70 dollar trial. In 14 days the agent booked 49 confirmed show-home viewings.

The leads were first-home buyers in Halswell, Rolleston and Wigram. By the time a human rang back, the buyer had already toured the competitor down the road. Speed was the whole game.

Our agent called same-day, qualified on KiwiSaver eligibility and the property specs, and offered two or three viewing slots. It booked 49 viewings and parked another 22 prospects for follow-up. Cost per confirmed booking was 7.12 dollars.

That is the cost of the conversation, not a finder's fee. The reps got back more than 21 hours of grunt-work dialling. The next campaign was already in flight before the trial closed.

The full numbers sit in the Christchurch 49 viewings case study.

What did a home-care and a mobile-mechanic business recover in missed calls?

Both were bleeding revenue after hours and did not know the size of it. A Hamilton home-care agency was losing serious money to calls that rang out after 5pm. An Auckland mobile mechanic had missed 463 after-hours calls in a single year.

Start with Hamilton. The owner of a 40-client agency told me her after-hours miss cost about 18,000 dollars a year. We ran the real maths over a coffee. The honest anchor is lifetime value. One new home-care client is worth about 22,800 dollars over their tenure on current NZ rates. Once you stack a few of those lost relationships against lost referrals and carer churn, the worst-case lifetime cost runs far higher than the 18,000 dollar figure she had in her head.

Miss the 9pm panic call and a family rings the next provider. Our agent answers on ring one, captures the enquiry, and queues an 8am callback. She went live 11 days after that coffee.

The Auckland mechanic had a different problem with the same root. He cannot answer a phone with both hands under a bonnet. He was missing 42 percent of weekend enquiries and 463 after-hours calls a year. Our agent took the booking and quoted the standard ranges while he stayed on the tools.

Read the Hamilton home-care write-up and the Auckland mechanic case for the full breakdowns.

What did a property manager do about 300 missed calls?

A Dunedin property manager running 380 doors found 300 missed calls in one month. He had no idea. Most landed after 5pm or during the lunch rush, when his small team was already on the phone.

He listened back to the first 50. Each one was worth between 200 and 1,200 dollars in maintenance, a vacancy, or a new tenant. That is the bill for a phone that rings out.

He put our agent in front of the queue. It answers 24/7, splits urgent from routine, and routes the urgent ones to a human with full context attached. Six weeks later the missed-call count dropped from 300 to 22 a month.

Estimated recovered annual revenue was 186,000 dollars. The agent costs about 7,200 dollars a year. That is the cheapest insurance policy in the building.

The full call mix sits in the Dunedin 300 missed calls story.

Diagram showing portal and transcripts on Sydney servers and live call audio processed offshore

The honest data split: structured records in Sydney, live audio processed offshore.

What do these results have in common?

Three things. Every result is priced on the outcome, not the activity. Every business was leaking money through a phone that did not get answered fast enough. And every number is tagged at the call level so we can defend it.

Notice what is not here. No 7-cents-a-minute fantasy pricing. No vague percentage uplift with no base. We tag the calls, we count the outcomes, and we divide.

Outbound connect rates ran where they always do. About 47 to 65 percent of dials reach a human. Roughly 20 to 25 percent of dials become a real conversation over a minute long. A 200-dial campaign costs about 100 dollars. The leads come from conversations, not dial counts.

On data, we are honest about where it sits. Your portal, transcripts and structured call records live on our Sydney servers. Live call audio is processed offshore through documented arrangements with our voice infrastructure partner. We never claim all data stays in Australia.

Compliance is the same story in both countries. In New Zealand we work to the Privacy Act 2020 and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. In Australia we work to the Privacy Act 1988, the 13 Australian Privacy Principles, and the OAIC. The agent discloses it is an AI on every call.

How do you get results like these?

Start with one campaign and one number you care about. Pick the outcome first, a booked viewing, a warm seller, a missed call recovered. Then we tag every call against it so the cost per outcome is undeniable from week one.

A trial runs from a few hundred dollars. The Christchurch developer proved the model on 505.70 dollars before committing to anything bigger. You do not need a year-long contract to see the maths.

Pick one number and we will prove it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these AI voice agent case studies real?

Yes. Every number comes from a live deployment in our portal, tagged at the call level. We changed client names and stripped addresses because each business asked to stay anonymous. The dial counts, conversation counts, and dollar figures are unedited. We do not publish vibes-only case studies with a logo and a happy quote and no maths.

How much does a campaign like these cost?

We bill by the second at about 80 cents a minute. An answered call averages about 30 seconds, so roughly 40 cents. A 200-dial outbound campaign runs about 100 dollars. The Christchurch developer started on a 505.70 dollar trial. You price on the outcome, like 7.12 dollars per viewing or 32.74 dollars per seller.

Will my customers know they are talking to an AI?

Yes. The agent tells every caller it is an AI, on every call, in both New Zealand and Australia. We never run a campaign that hides it. Disclosure is built into the script and it does not hurt the numbers. The Sydney agent still warm-transferred 141 sellers with full disclosure on.

Where does my call data live?

Your portal, transcripts and structured call records sit on our Sydney servers. Live call audio is processed offshore through documented arrangements with our voice infrastructure partner. We never claim all data stays in Australia. We follow the NZ Privacy Act 2020 and the OPC, and the AU Privacy Act 1988 with its 13 Australian Privacy Principles and the OAIC.

How fast can I see results?

Fast. The Christchurch developer booked 49 viewings in 14 days. The Hamilton home-care agency went live 11 days after the first conversation. The Dunedin property manager took 300 missed calls down to 22 in six weeks. Start with one campaign and one outcome, and you will have defensible numbers inside a fortnight.

Which businesses do these results apply to?

Any business that takes inbound enquiries or runs outbound lists. We have published numbers across real estate, property management, home care, and trades. The pattern holds wherever a phone rings out or a list goes uncalled. Your own breakdown will differ, which is why we tag your calls rather than quote someone else's average.
